Honorary Chairman Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Professor Lap-Chee Tsui has accepted our invitation to act as the Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong University Alumni Association of Ontario. Prior to his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong in 2002, Professor Tsui was the Geneticist-in-Chief and Head of the Genetics and Genomic Biology Program of the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He served as the Vice-Chancellor of our alma mater until March 31, 2014.

Although Professor Tsui is extremely busy with his educational and research work, he has been trying his best efforts to participate in our activities and support our mission. It is indeed our great honor to have Professor Tsui as the leader of Hong Kong University Alumni Association of Ontario. We look forward to having his continuous support and guidance.

2015 HKJU Activity – Mini PanAm Game

This year the Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni Ontario will organize a “Mini PanAm Game” for its members to participate. The format of the activity is quite different from the one in previous years. Instead of holding competitions by individual AA (Alumni Association) teams, it will combine all team members from each AA and divide them into 2 groups, say 紅隊 and 白隊, to compete in a variety of games. The objectives are to promote “One JU” spirit instead of individual AA, and to encourage mingling and knowing members of other AAs.

The Mini PanAm Game day will be held at the new PanAm Centre in Markham on October 25, 2015, with the following competitions:

1. Men Indoor Soccer
Using floor hockey net; 6 on 6 or 7 on 7; two periods each 20 minutes.

2. Women Volley Ball (by using floating beach ball)
6 on 6; net can be lowered; 2 periods each 15 minutes

3. Men and women mixed basket ball
6 on 6; three periods each 10 minutes

4. Relay game

5. Cheer leading

More details of the game arrangement will be worked out by a sub-committee.
You are encouraged to participate in any of the above games by completing the attached registration form by June 27,2015 (Saturday). You can show your interest in more than one games in the registration form. A poster for this activity is also attached for your information.

Please submit the completed registration form to:
