Joint Universities Year End Banquet and Talent Night 2014
This year the Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni Ontario, led by the Lingnan University (rotating each year) has decided to organise a Year End Banquet and Talent Night to foster friendship among alumni from the universities in Hong Kong. Each university will perform a 10-minute show, of any nature and format, to compete for the champion and other awards. Two members of our Karaoke Interest Group will perform karaoke singing on our behalf. You are cordially invited to join the Banquet and Talent Night to support the event and cheer for our team. Details are as follows:
Date and time: October 18, 2014 (Saturday), 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Casa Victoria 紫爵金宴, 8601, Warden Ave., Unit 4-6, Markham, N/E corner of Hwy 7 and Warden.
Price: $40/each for members and their spouses, others at $45/each.

Fall Hike Rouge River Vallery Beare Hill
Come and witness a beautiful fall with your alumni and friends in a 7 km hike up Beare Hill and around the Rouge River Valley
Date and Time: Sunday October 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.
Duration of hike is about 3.5 hours.
Meeting Place:
Rouge River Conservation Centre (RVCC) parking lot.
Please report to hike coordinators on arrival. As parking is limited, please carpool wherever possible and be on time.
Directions:
From Toronto, take Hwy 401 east to Exit 389 to Meadowvale Road, go north. Stay in right lane, pass Sheppard Avenue, follow the blue RVCC sign, drive up ramp and turn right to the parking area.
Please allow about 35 to 45 minutes drive from Toronto.

Cost per person about $33, all inclusive.
Reminder: Please wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes with good traction and bring a hiking stick. Although this trail is not considered difficult, participants must decide if such activity is suitable to their physical capabilities and skill levels. They must inform the hike leaders/coordinators before the start of the hike about any health problems or allergies and the location of any special medications. They must follow the leaders’ directions. Parents and guardians must supervise children in their care.
