The HKU Alumni Association of New Zealand (HKUAA NZ) celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland, bringing together sixty alumni and friends for an evening of connection and community. Guest of Honour Mrs Cherry Tse Ling Kit Ching 謝凌潔貞 (BA), Executive Vice-President (Administration & Finance) and alumna of HKU delivered a keynote speech at the dinner. This was her first alumni event since taking up the role on September 1, 2025, and she shared the latest university developments with the alumni in New Zealand.
HKUAA NZ President Mrs Audrey Chan 陳謝冰心 (BA) and her committee welcomed Mrs Tse and hosted the evening, which highlighted the enduring bonds among HKU alumni in New Zealand.
“As the new President of HKUAA NZ since September — the same month you started your new role at HKU — it was especially wonderful to welcome you and share this milestone together. Your engaging presentation and warm, approachable manner made the evening even more memorable, and many alumni have shared how much they enjoyed hearing from you,” said Mrs Audrey Chan.
Mrs Tse also enjoyed the evening, stating, “Our common emotional bond with HKU engenders a sense of community that transcends age, geography, and discipline.”
The dinner also drew many former presidents and committee members of HKUAA NZ, including Founding President Dr Allen Liang 梁以崙 (MBBS), underscoring the association’s strong legacy and continuity over two decades.
