To celebrate the opening of the new digital space in the Music Library, HKU Libraries hosted HKU’s first Silent Disco on Nov 10th, featuring the dynamic duo of HKU Alumni – DJ Chi Chung’s Choice and DJ FXlion! The two DJs played non-stop dance tunes for students to relax and chill during the busy season.
Dr. Wong Chi Chung (MPhil 1997; PhD 2010), aka DJ Chi Chung’s Choice, is a veteran radio host and cultural curator, well-known within the HKU community for his work as the former Director of CEDARS General Education.
Darrell Cheng (BA 2020; PGDE 2021), aka DJ FXlion, is now a full-time teacher in a local school who connects people through music. Together, they co-curated an unforgettable night and proved that music truly unites us all!
DJ Chi Chung’s Choice:
I had so much fun DJ-ing together with another alumni DJ FXlion on 2 separate channels, simultaneously, in the newly renovated HKU Music Library. With more spaces and a full sea view, thanks to their great idea to invited us to play some non-stop dance tunes for students to relax and chill during the busy season.
I think it’s also the first Silent Disco in HKU although I have been spinning for Clockenflap a couple of times before. People always love this concept to dance and sing along with their headphones on. Hope this fun thing can carry on in our campus.
