On Friday, June 5, over 50 HKU alumni gathered in Seoul for a first-of-its-kind Networking Reception. This memorable evening was hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO), with the HKU Development & Alumni Affairs Office and the HKU Business School Korea Alumni Network as co-organisers.
Against the stunning backdrop of Namsan Seoul Tower, the event welcomed alumni from nine different faculties. With graduation years spanning more than two decades—from the Class of 2005 to the upcoming Class of 2026—the gathering was a true testament to our diverse and vibrant community in Seoul. Across generations, HKU alumni bonded over lively conversations, sharing fond memories and stories of their time in Hong Kong and at HKU.
The evening kicked off with welcoming remarks from Ms Gillian Lam, Principal Representative of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Korea and Japan, who extended a warm welcome to everyone in attendance. Following her, Ms Monica Wong, Director of Alumni Affairs from the HKU Development & Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO), took the floor to share exciting updates from the campus. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to HKETO for the generous support, and to the attendees for serving as proud ambassadors and true representatives of HKU in Seoul.
The rest of the night was incredibly lively, filled with great food, fantastic company, and non-stop conversations.
