香港變得太快——建築老，招牌倒。新書從美學角度，記錄了一批危在旦夕的特式霓虹燈、招牌、老店及歷史建築，以簡潔的文字記載香港的歷史文化演進。更從多份存封百年的歷史檔案，重新整合歌手張敬軒先生租住中的港大教職員宿舍、百年大宅Alberose一段從未曝光、發掘過程峰迴路轉的秘史，更無意中發現大樓跟面臨強拍的歷史建築——般咸道35號的精彩故事。

Historical buildings, neon signs, old shops are leaving us behind. The Author, Mr Simpson WONG (BSc 2000), uses his camera lens and pen to record the interesting details of the daily history that wandering around our neighbors. Through hundreds of historical archives from the Government Record Office, Simpson discovered an untold, mystical history of the current HKU staff quarter, Alberose.
