HKU hosts Inaugural Hong Kong Climate Forum
The inaugural Hong Kong Climate Forum on March 25, 2024 is a significant milestone underscoring Hong Kong’s vital role as a nexus in climate change research, green innovation and finance, bridging the Greater Bay Area with the global community. It brought together experts, policymakers, business leaders, and stakeholders from both the United States and China, specifically from bay areas including the San Francisco Bay Area and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Forum was hosted by the Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality (ICCN) at the University of Hong Kong. ICCN is dedicated to establishing itself as a prominent global hub for climate science research. Its focus includes studying the effects of climate change on both ecosystems and humans, as well as developing strategies and technologies for mitigating and adapting to these changes.

Our footprints in the Main Building
Since 1912, the Encaustic floor tiles laid along the walkways of the Main Building are filled with footprints of generations of students, staff and alumni. Together, let’s preserve our Legacy for the Future. The HKU Heritage Fund is established to preserve the Main Building, and to ensure this legacy will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
