Dream Big, Innovate Deep, and Stay Resilient

“HKU has laid out concrete plans to enhance its innovation capacity and launched a series of I&E initiatives to strengthen the HKU ecosystem, all in support of HKSAR's development towards an international I&T centre,” — Professor Xiang Zhang, HKU President & Vice-Chancellor

Over 40 HKU start-ups showcased their innovations at the annual Innovation & Entrepreneurship Day, “DreamOn 2023” on June 5. They are supported under two major start-up programmes by the University - DeepTech 100 and TSSSU@HKU. The HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (TEC) and the HK$400M - HKU Entrepreneurship Engine Fund were also launched.

TEC is a one-stop platform committed to coordinating and synergising diverse entrepreneurial resources within and beyond HKU. It underscores the University's commitment to fostering a dynamic innovation landscape, nurturing change-makers, and incubating deep tech venture.

The “HKU Entrepreneurship Engine Fund” marks a monumental step in nurturing entrepreneurial minds and translating disruptive technologies into meaningful societal impact through investment. Collaborating with investors and stakeholders, this new fund will serve as patient capital, seeding deep tech ventures and accelerating promising start-ups.

Faculty of Arts launches new Master of Arts in AI, Ethics and Society
|
As AI continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, it is imperative to acquire the knowledge and skills to understand and navigate the future it creates. The MA in AI, Ethics and Society programme* is designed for recent graduates or mid-career professionals who want to be at the forefront of this revolution and to make a positive impact in their respective fields.
|
This one-year full-time programme is the first of its kind in Asia and combines theoretical and practical approaches. Students will have the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and innovation through HKU's AI & Humanity Lab, where they will interact with leading scholars and engage in discussions with experts from around the world.
