Celebrating HKU 111th Anniversary with Love and Knowledge Sharing at West Kowloon Cultural District
As part of HKU’s 111th anniversary celebrations, ARTathon was the University’s first large-scale outdoor event for students, alumni, staff and their families and friends since the start of the three-year epidemic.
As a symbol of knowledge sharing through the generations, an eight-metre-high Main Building installation was filled with 4,000 books donated by HKU members and friends. The collection went to local charitable organisations that support needy families.
Over 500 secondary school students who come from less privileged families were sponsored to visit the Hong Kong Palace Museum and join the carnival to enjoy a day of fun.
Graduation gowns were provided for graduates who did not have a chance to attend a physical graduation ceremony during the epidemic to take photos with their friends and family.
