{"id":1124,"date":"2017-04-25T23:26:33","date_gmt":"2017-04-26T03:26:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alumni.hku.hk\/hkuaaont\/?p=1124"},"modified":"2017-08-31T19:44:48","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T23:44:48","slug":"victoria-day-hike-in-eldred-king-woodlands-aurora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alumni.hku.hk\/hkuaaont\/victoria-day-hike-in-eldred-king-woodlands-aurora\/","title":{"rendered":"Victoria Day Hike in Eldred King Woodlands, Aurora"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spring is finally here. \u00a0It is the time to go out for some fresh air and exercise, and appreciate what Mother Nature has provided us. \u00a0Alumni, family and friends are welcome to join us on this Spring Hike. \u00a0Details as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date and time<\/strong>: Victoria Day \u2013 Monday <strong>\u00a0May 22, 2017 at 1:30 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Eldred King Woodlands\/Oak Ridge Trail (north of Aurora Road, west of Markham Road)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Length and duration of hike<\/strong>: \u00a0About 10 km, 3 hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meeting place and direction<\/strong>: \u00a0Take 404 north, exit at Aurora Road, go east on Aurora Road passing McCowan Road, \u00a0turn left on Markham Road (going north), pass St Johns Sideroad, go on for about 1 Km and turn left for<strong> Eldred King Woodlands Parking lot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>PLEASE \u00a0ARRIVE \u00a015\u00a0 MINUTES\u00a0 EARLIER.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost<\/strong>: Nil \u00a0for hiking<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration<\/strong>: \u00a0Please register before May 20, 2017. \u00a0Forward your name, cell phone number, an emergency contact name and phone number to Hannah Cheung at<strong> emailhcathonta@gmail.com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dinner (Optional):<\/strong> 6 pm at Grand Lake Banquet Restaurant (at Hwy 7 &amp; Kennedy<strong>), about $30 to $35 per person.\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0Those who are unable to come to the hike but want to join for dinner, please contact Augustine Chan direct at <strong>augustinetoronto@hotmail.com.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reminder<\/strong>: The trail is not considered difficult. \u00a0Nevertheless, you are advised to wear either hiking boots or sturdy shoes with good traction. \u00a0A hiking stick is also recommended. \u00a0You should assess whether you yourself are suitable for such activity. HKUAAO is not liable for personal injuries.
