THE UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG HKU Summer Leadership Forum with LKS Faculty of Medicine
Global Health Leadership in the Age of COVID-19
July 27 (Monday) 1pm
The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the expectations of all actors, whether in government, business, or community. It has put extraordinary expectations on the health professions to lead and support, whether for prevention or treatment. While many are discussing what the ‘new normal’ might look like, we also recognize that COVID-19 will not be the last pandemic. What does global health leadership mean in these times of uncertainty? What have we done well to address our current challenges? Will we be ready for the ‘new normal’ and the next set of challenges? Are we preparing the next generation of leaders sufficiently to be global health leaders? This forum will bring together the reflections of the WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific as well as the experiences of the new generation in navigating through current uncertain times and preparing for the future.
