Honouring the First Benefactor of HKU: Sir H N Mody
Honouring the First Benefactor of HKU: Sir H N Mody
"Life is incomplete when man lives for his own self. Life is best lived when it is lived for others."
– Sir Hormusjee N Mody

Every Oct 12, HKU marks the birthday of Sir Hormusjee N Mody, whose visionary support and donation more than a century ago laid the groundwork for establishing the University. Zoroastrian Priest (Ervad) Homyar G. Nasirabadwala recited a prayer and laid a garland of flowers on Mody's bust in the Main Building, citing Zoroastrianism teachings of HUMATA, HUKTA, HUVARASHTA, "good thoughts, good words, good deeds."
