Honouring the First Benefactor of HKU: Sir H N Mody

Every Oct 12, HKU marks the birthday of Sir Hormusjee N Mody, whose visionary support and donation more than a century ago laid the groundwork for establishing the University. Zoroastrian Priest (Ervad) Homyar G. Nasirabadwala recited a prayer and laid a garland of flowers on Mody's bust in the Main Building, citing Zoroastrianism teachings of HUMATA, HUKTA, HUVARASHTA, "good thoughts, good words, good deeds." Professor Wang Gungwu 王賡武教授 has been invited to speak as the HKU Sin Wai-Kin Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Humanities:
